I loved Inside Out, Shaun the Sheep and When Marnie Was There, but I think Boy & the World was by far the best movie of the year. I’ll let the images speak for themselves!
The visuals in Boy & the World grow increasingly complex as the boy discovers more of the world. It’s a masterpiece of wordless storytelling that takes full advantage of its medium.
Coincidentally, my pick for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, World of Tomorrow, is also made with stick figures.
